Introduction: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the main public health problems around world. The present study aimed to determine prevalence and risk factors GDM. Objective: To carry out a systematic review through analysis scientific articles in relation predisposing for development Diabetes. Methodology: A studies focused on Diabetes was carried out. bibliographic search Pubmed, Scielo, Elsevier total 20 are included. Results: Adequate glycemic control most important goal treatment gestational diabetes, theoretically this optimal can reduce maternal fetal morbidity mortality levels similar those pregnant women without diabetes. Conclusions: It know detection diagnosis GD thus be able start multidisciplinary care perinatal mortality.
